The following christmassy cannabis cookie recipes have been adapted from popular recipes on Delish. They also require a stash of cannabutter. Don't worry, once you make a batch of cannabis infused butter, it stores for ages in the refrigerator.  So, you'll have plenty of time to use up the excess.
<h3>Ingredients</h3>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400">2-1/4 cup all-purpose flour</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400">1 tsp baking powder</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400">1/2 tsp. kosher salt</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400">1 c. (2 sticks) cannabutter, softened</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400">1 c. granulated sugar</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400">1 large egg</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400">3/4 tsp almond extract</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400">Red food coloring</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400">Sprinkles</li>
</ul>
<h3>Directions</h3>
<ol>
<li> Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium-sized baking bowl and set aside. </li>
<li>In a big bowl, add the cannabutter and sugar; mix together with a stand mixer or use a hand mixer. </li>
<li>Once blended, add the egg to the mixture, then beat together. Add extract and do the same. </li>
<li>Slowly add in the flour, salt, and baking powder and beat until incorporated.</li>
<li> Separate the mixture into halves; add the red food coloring to one half and stir until evenly distributed and the color is to your liking. Shape both the red dough and the plain dough into 1/2-inch tall squares, wrap in plastic wrap, and place in the refrigerator for half an hour. </li>
<li> Once the dough is chilled, remove it from the refrigerator. Roll out each batch into large rectangles, roughly 1/2" thick.</li>
<li>Layer red and plain doughs on top of one another. Use the rolling pin to gently push doughs together. </li>
<li>Beginning on one of the long edges, roll the dough into a compact log. Trim ends to ensure the first cookie you cut off will be a full size cookie.</li>
<li>Then, wrap in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for a minimum of one hour and a maximum of overnight.</li>
<li> When you are ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.</li>
<li>Cover a plate with sprinkles. Remove the dough from the refrigerator, and roll the dough in the sprinkles. Use your hands to press the sprinkles into the dough to make them stick, if needed.</li>
<li>With a sharp knife, cut 1/2-inch thick slices of dough and place on baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Leave 2" between each cookie.</li>
<li> Bake for 10 minutes, until edges are set and cookies begin to turn bronze.</li>

<h3>Directions</h3>

<li> Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a medium-sized bowl, add the flour, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar and stir together. Place parchment paper on a pair of baking sheets.</li>
<li> In a second bowl, add the cannabutter, a cup of granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat with a hand mixer until combined.</li>
<li> One at a time, crack the eggs and add to the mixture, beating until incorporated. Then, slowly add the flour mixture and beat until combined.</li>
<li> In a small bowl that’s not too deep, add the rest of the sugar and cinnamon, and stir.</li>
<li> With a cookie scooper or your hands, roll the dough into balls that are about 1-½ inches in size. Roll in the cinnamon mixture and place on the parchment paper.</li>
<li> Bake for approximately 12 minutes, until cracks form in the cookies. Remove from the oven and let cool for about five minutes. Then, with a spatula, move to a wire cooling rack.</li>

Making distillate concentrates requires advanced laboratory equipment (for example fractional distillation) and an extensive refinement processes. The process separates cannabis plant material into a variety of phytochemicals, depending on temperature and time. 
The manufacturer removes any cannabinoids that it feels is undesirable for the final product. For example, THC distillate is potent and usually contains only one cannabinoid — THC.
<h2>What Are the Major Differences Between Full Spectrum and Distillate? </h2>

One of the main differences between full-spectrum vs distillate extracts is the cannabinoids each concentrate contains. 
More than 110 cannabinoids, such as THC, CDB, CBN, and CBG, exist, and each of these interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system differently. Full-spectrum extracts retain the complete cannabis plant profile including its cannabinoids, flavonoids, terpenes, and other phytochemicals.   
A distillate extract only contains the cannabinoids and other natural plant substances the creator of the product wants, and manufacturers remove “undesirable” phytochemicals.
<h3>The Effects </h3>
Because of the cannabinoids and other phytochemicals in the extract, distillate and full-spectrum weed products produce different effects.

The great news for fellow tokers is that cannabutter is the perfect Thanksgiving (or should we say Danksgiving?) ingredient.
Cannabutter is butter that’s been infused with cannabis. It’s ideal to use in any recipe — savory or sweet — with butter as one of the ingredients. Plus, if you want to lower the dosage, use half regular butter and half weed butter or any other ratio for the desired effects. 
Remember to decarboxylate (bake) the weed before infusing it in butter so the THC can be activated.

<li style="font-weight: 400">Bring the water to a boil, and then turn down the heat to simmer the potatoes for 15 to 20 minutes. The potatoes are ready when you can poke a sharp knife or fork through them. </li>
<li style="font-weight: 400">In another saucepan, add the butter and cream. Turn up the heat until the butter melts. </li>
<li style="font-weight: 400">When the potatoes are cooked, drain the excess water. </li>
<li style="font-weight: 400">Place the potatoes in a large serving bowl, and pour the butter-cream mixture over the hot potatoes. </li>

<li style="font-weight: 400">Flour your hands and fold the dough to completely incorporate the fat. </li>

Smoking some strains can make you euphoric, while others make you feel energetic. Not to mention those that are giggly, creative, sleepy, or social. It makes us wonder, is marijuana a depressant? Or is marijuana a stimulant?

While some drugs are clearly classified as depressants only, such as benzodiazepines (per the <a href="https://www.dea.gov/taxonomy/term/316">DEA</a>), marijuana isn’t as cut and dry. Still, <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32603954/">research</a> shows that weed contains compounds that can make you sleepy and even treat insomnia – a classic depressant impact
Marijuana also can decrease stress and tension levels in your body, as well as send all your anxious thoughts packing, as noted by another <a href="https://www.thepermanentejournal.org/doi/10.7812/TPP/18-041">study</a>. That’s another big sign that it’s a depressant in a good way.
So if you have a hard time falling asleep or just want to relax after a stressful day, cannabis can probably help you slow down. Of course, some strains may be better at doing so than others, which we’ll get into below.

On the other side of the coin are stimulants. Scientifically speaking, stimulants make you feel energized and even euphoric. Even something as benign as caffeine is considered a stimulant (via <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1356551/">Brain Research</a>). At higher doses (like too many cups of coffee), you may also notice that stimulants can increase your heart rate and breathing speed.
Because cannabis can make you feel happy, <a href="https://mountainremedy.grlbl.com/articles/top-strains-for-creativity/">creative</a>, and amused at seemingly everything, it also qualifies as a stimulant. It's these uplifting effects that have caused so many people to reach for a joint or a vape pen to help curb a blue mood.
Be careful with how much weed you smoke, however. If you take in too much THC, you might get anxious or feel like your heart is beating quickly, among other things. So smoking in moderation is always a good idea, especially if you’re sensitive to THC.
<h2>Does the Sativa or Indica Label Matter?</h2>
You're probably familiar with the three categories of marijuana you can get at the store: <a href="https://mountainremedy.grlbl.com/articles/best-strains-of-2021-garanimals-strain/">indica, sativa, and hybrid. </a>Indica usually is branded as the nighttime weed that helps you sleep, while sativa is believed to give you energy. Hybrids, then, offer some blend of the two. 
But, did you know there's actually not really any scientific difference between indica and sativa in terms of effects? These labels are just a holdover from an antiquated way of categorizing cannabis based on how plants look. To that end, a better way to understand how cannabis works is the entourage effect.
Without getting too technical, this theory basically says that compounds in marijuana, like <a href="https://mountainremedy.grlbl.com/articles/what-are-terpenes-guide-to-cannabis-aromatics/">terpenes</a>, in addition to THC and CBD, impact the kind of high you get. Some terpenes, like myrcene, make you feel sleepy and others, like the citrusy limonene, make you energetic.
